155.52 MHz LVPECL clock for high-speed serial links
The DSC1122BI2-155.5200 is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator delivering a 155.52 MHz LVPECL output — the exact frequency used in OC-3/STM-1 SONET/SDH and 1G Fibre Channel reference clocks. The LVPECL differential output provides the low-jitter edge rates these serial protocols require, while the MEMS resonator gives better shock and vibration immunity than a quartz crystal in the same footprint.
Microchip lists the DSC1122BI2-155.5200 as Active. This part is suitable for both new designs and ongoing production without a forced migration timeline.
Package and enable/disable function
Housed in a 6-SMD no-lead package measuring 5.00mm x 3.20mm with a seated height of 0.90mm. The Enable/Disable function lets the system shut down the oscillator output to save power — the disable current drops to 22 mA max versus 58 mA max when active. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profiles; no special handling beyond normal MSL precautions.
