148.5 MHz LVPECL — the clock for video and high-speed serial
The DSC1122BI2-148.5000T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator delivering a 148.5 MHz LVPECL output — the exact pixel clock frequency for 1080p video at 60 fps and a common reference for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel SERDES. LVPECL differential signaling keeps the edge jitter low over long board traces, so the clock distribution tree doesn't degrade the timing margin at the FPGA or PHY input.
The 2.25V to 3.6V supply range means the same BOM position works on a 2.5V FPGA bank or a 3.3V PHY rail — no extra LDO, no voltage divider.
Housed in a 6-SMD, No Lead package measuring 5.00mm x 3.20mm with a seated height of 0.90mm — this is the standard 5×3.2 mm oscillator footprint, pin-compatible with quartz-based XOs of the same size.
Microchip's MEMS fab capacity is independent of the crystal supply chain.
