66.66 MHz MEMS oscillator with AEC-Q100 qualification
The DSC1121CE2-066.6600 is a 66.66 MHz MEMS-based XO (Standard) from Microchip's DSC1121 series, delivering a CMOS output with ±25 ppm frequency stability across its operating range. Its AEC-Q100 rating qualifies it for automotive-grade applications, meaning it has passed the reliability stress tests and temperature cycling required for under-hood or cabin electronics. The Enable/Disable function lets the system power-gate the oscillator output, dropping supply current from 35 mA to 22 mA when the clock is not needed.
Supply voltage range and rail compatibility
The wide input range also provides margin during supply transients common in automotive 3.3 V domains, where the rail may dip below 3.0 V during cranking.
MEMS resonator advantages over quartz
The MEMS base resonator gives this oscillator higher shock and vibration tolerance compared to a quartz crystal — a practical benefit for engine-bay or chassis-mounted ECUs where mechanical stress is a concern.
