Why choose a MEMS oscillator over quartz in automotive
The DSC1121BM1-060.0000T is a MEMS-based XO that delivers a fixed 60 MHz CMOS output across -55 to +125 °C with ±50 ppm stability — no quartz crystal to fracture under engine vibration or thermal shock. AEC-Q100 qualification means it's screened for automotive-grade reliability: under-hood ECUs, ADAS camera modules, and infotainment head units that see 105 °C ambient still have margin.
Supply range spans 2.25 V to 3.6 V — it runs directly off a 3.3 V or 2.5 V rail without an intermediate LDO. Maximum active current is 35 mA at 60 MHz; the disable mode drops to 22 mA, so the power budget is straightforward for a 3.3 V rail sized for a few hundred mA.
Lifecycle and availability
The DSC1121 series is a current catalog product; quoted to order against BOM quantities through independent distribution.
6-SMD no-lead package, 5.00 mm × 3.20 mm footprint, seated height 0.90 mm max — standard land pattern for 5×3.2 mm oscillators. Surface-mount reflow profile per JEDEC; no special bake-out required as there is no quartz blank to crack from moisture absorption.
