MEMS oscillator for extreme-temperature timing
The DSC1121AM1-024.5760T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC1121 series, delivering a 24.576 MHz CMOS output with ±50 ppm frequency stability across the full -55°C to 125°C military temperature range.
AEC-Q100 Grade 1 – qualified for under-hood duty
This is not a commercial part screened to a wider temperature range; it is a qualified device for an engine-control ECU or a transmission controller where the ambient temperature inside the housing can hit 125°C.
Wide supply and enable/disable control
The oscillator operates from a 2.25V to 3.6V supply, covering 2.5V and 3.3V logic rails without an intermediate regulator. The 6-SMD no-lead exposed pad package (7.00 mm x 5.00 mm, 0.90 mm seated height) requires a thermal pad on the PCB for heat sinking — the exposed pad is the primary thermal path, so the board layout must include a copper plane under the pad with vias to the inner ground layer.
