41.5 MHz MEMS oscillator — field-fit note
The DSC1121AL5-041.5000T is a fixed-frequency 41.5 MHz XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC1121 series, built on a MEMS resonator rather than a quartz crystal. The MEMS die is inherently more resistant to shock and vibration than a quartz blank — relevant if this board lives in a motor drive, a fan wall, or a vehicle cabin where the crystal's mechanical resonance can drift under G-force. Output is CMOS, single-ended, with an Enable/Disable function that pulls the output to high-impedance when the enable pin is de-asserted. The disable current drops to 22 mA max from the 35 mA max active draw — modest savings, but useful if the oscillator is gated during a low-power sleep mode.
Supply voltage range is 2.25V to 3.6V, covering the common 2.5V, 3.0V, and 3.3V logic rails. No external LDO needed if the rail is within that window — the oscillator's internal regulator handles the MEMS drive voltage.
