MEMS oscillator for automotive timing
The DSC1121AE1-040.0000T is a 40 MHz MEMS-based XO from Microchip's DSC1121 series, delivering a CMOS output with ±50 ppm frequency stability across its -20°C to 70°C operating range. Rated AEC-Q100, this oscillator is qualified for automotive applications — the MEMS resonator provides better shock and vibration tolerance than a quartz crystal, which matters for cabin electronics and infotainment modules that see road vibration. The Enable/Disable function lets the system power down the oscillator output, dropping supply current from 35 mA max to 22 mA max — useful for sleep-mode power budgets in always-on automotive ECUs.
Package and board layout
Housed in a 6-SMD, No Lead Exposed Pad package measuring 7.00 mm x 5.00 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm — the exposed pad requires a thermal via pattern under the package for proper heat sinking and mechanical stability.
Suitable for new designs and production builds. Sourced through independent distribution; quoted to order against the BOM quantity.
