25 MHz MEMS oscillator — active, production-ready
The DSC1121AE1-025.0000 is a 25 MHz fixed-frequency XO (Standard) from Microchip's DSC1121 series, built on a MEMS resonator instead of a quartz crystal. The MEMS base gives it better shock and vibration tolerance than a conventional crystal oscillator, and the CMOS output directly drives most logic families without a level translator. Supply voltage spans 2.25V to 3.6V, so it runs from a 2.5V or 3.3V rail without an extra regulator. The Enable/Disable function lets the system shut down the oscillator and drop supply current to 22 mA max — useful for power-sensitive designs that gate the clock in sleep modes.
Active lifecycle — no obsolescence risk
Microchip lists the DSC1121AE1-025.0000 as Active. Sourced through independent distribution — quoted to order against the BOM quantity.
Housed in a 6-SMD no-lead exposed pad package measuring 7.00 mm x 5.00 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm. The exposed pad provides a low-thermal-resistance path to the PCB ground plane, which helps keep the MEMS die within its operating range. Rated for -20°C to 70°C — the commercial temperature band. This covers indoor equipment, office electronics, and most consumer appliances. For industrial or outdoor enclosures that see -40°C or 85°C, a wider-temperature variant from the DSC1121 family would be needed.
