156.25 MHz LVDS reference for SerDes and Ethernet
The DSC1103CE2-156.2500 is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator delivering a 156.25 MHz LVDS output — the exact frequency used by 1 GbE, SGMII, and many SerDes reference PLLs.
MEMS reliability vs quartz trade-offs
The trade-off is that the MEMS oscillator's phase noise floor is typically higher than a good quartz VCXO — for most digital interface clocks this is irrelevant, but for a jitter-sensitive ADC clock you would compare the phase noise plot. The 6-SMD no-lead package measures 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm — a standard footprint that matches many 3.2 x 2.5 mm quartz oscillators.
Microchip lists the DSC1103CE2-156.2500 as Active.
