MEMS oscillator for extreme-temperature clocking
The DSC1101DM2-033.3333T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC1101 series, delivering a 33.3333 MHz CMOS output with ±25 ppm frequency stability across the full -55°C to 125°C military temperature range. Unlike quartz-based oscillators, the MEMS resonator provides better shock and vibration tolerance, making this part suitable for avionics, downhole drilling, and satellite payloads where crystal failure rates rise under mechanical stress.
This 370:1 current reduction lets the oscillator be gated off during system sleep without a separate load switch, preserving battery life in portable or remote equipment.
6-VDFN package and supply flexibility
Housed in a 6-VDFN package measuring 2.50mm x 2.00mm with a seated height of 0.90mm max, this oscillator fits tight PCB layouts where board area is at a premium. The wide supply range of 2.25V to 3.6V allows it to run from common 2.5V or 3.3V rails without an external regulator, simplifying power tree design.
