The DSC1101DI5-072.0000T: It runs from a 2.25V to 3.6V supply, drawing 35 mA max while active and dropping to 95 µA in standby (power-down) mode — the standby pin lets the system shut the clock tree during sleep without a separate enable switch.
MEMS oscillators also typically have shorter production lead times than quartz, which can matter when the BOM line is on a tight build schedule. The 6-VDFN package (2.50 mm × 2.00 mm, 0.90 mm seated height) saves board area compared to a larger SMD crystal can, but the exposed pad requires a proper solder-paste stencil opening and a via-in-pad layout for thermal relief — budget this into the PCB footprint.
