Programmable MEMS oscillator for flexible timing trees
The DSC1101CL3-PROGT is a blank-programmable MEMS oscillator from Microchip's DSC1101 series — it ships unprogrammed and you set the output frequency anywhere from 2.3 MHz to 170 MHz using Microchip's programming tools or a distributor programming service. A single BOM line covers multiple frequency variants: instead of stocking a separate fixed-frequency can for every clock speed, you program the same part number to the exact frequency needed per board revision or product variant.
The supply voltage range spans 2.25 V to 3.6 V, so it runs directly off a 3.3 V or 2.5 V rail without an extra LDO — handy when you're consolidating power domains on a mixed-voltage board.
Standby function and CMOS output
A standby (power-down) pin lets you shut the oscillator off when the system sleeps — the 35 mA max supply current drops to near zero in standby, saving power in battery-operated or duty-cycled designs. CMOS output levels are compatible with most MCU, FPGA, and logic inputs without external level translation, as long as the supply voltage matches the receiving device's I/O bank.
