What this oscillator does on your board
The DSC1101CI5-022.5000 is a MEMS-based standard oscillator (XO) that outputs a fixed 22.5 MHz CMOS clock. It replaces a quartz crystal + load-cap pair with a single IC that starts up faster and resists vibration better — useful in industrial environments where ceramic resonators drift or quartz cracks. Supply voltage spans 2.25V to 3.6V, so it runs directly off a 2.5V or 3.3V rail without an LDO.
Temperature grade and deployment fit
It suits outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor PLCs, engine-bay ECUs, and HVAC controllers where the ambient sees freeze-thaw cycles and summer heat soak. The MEMS resonator is less sensitive to mechanical shock than a quartz crystal — no spurious modes from board flex or drop impact. The 6-SMD no-lead package (3.2 mm × 2.5 mm) saves board area but demands a clean solder-paste stencil aperture to avoid head-in-pillow defects on the bottom-side pads.
