MEMS resonator, quartz-free timing
The DSC1101BI2-024.5760: Base resonator is MEMS, not quartz — means the frequency is set by a silicon micro-structure rather than a quartz crystal. For a BOM buyer, this removes quartz lead-time exposure and adds shock/vibration tolerance that a quartz oscillator cannot match.
Industrial temperature, standby current
Rated -40°C to 85°C, so it works in outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor controllers, and engine-bay electronics without a commercial-grade derating. Standby (Power Down) function drops supply current to 95µA max when disabled — the oscillator can be gated off with the rest of the system in a battery-powered design, saving milliamps that would otherwise be wasted.
Supply flexibility and footprint
Supply range is 2.25V to 3.6V, covering 2.5V and 3.3V rails without a separate regulator. The 6-SMD no-lead package (5.00mm x 3.20mm, 0.90mm seated height) is a standard oscillator footprint — no layout surprises.
Lifecycle — active, no EOL watch
Product status is listed as Active — Microchip continues to manufacture and support this order code. Sourced through independent distribution; quoted to order against the BOM quantity.
