50 MHz MEMS clock — active, no quartz
The DSC1101BE2-050.0000T: This is a 50 MHz MEMS-based oscillator from Microchip's DSC1101 series, not a quartz crystal — the MEMS resonator is factory-trimmed and sealed in a 6-SMD no-lead package, so there is no external load-cap selection or crystal routing to mess up on the board. Output is CMOS, which means it drives a standard logic input directly — no level translation needed for a 3.3 V or 2.5 V rail, and the supply range of 2.25 V to 3.6 V covers both without a separate regulator.
Standby function for battery duty cycles
When enabled, the oscillator draws 35 mA max at 50 MHz — the MEMS core starts faster than a quartz crystal, so the first clock edge arrives sooner after standby release.
Temperature grade and board fit
The 5.00 mm x 3.20 mm footprint and 0.90 mm seated height match the standard 5x3.2 mm oscillator land pattern — no via-in-pad or special fan-out needed, just a clean two-layer layout.
No official second-source or pin-compatible equivalent confirmed from other manufacturers.
