MEMS oscillator, not a quartz crystal — what that changes
Supply range and standby current — fit for battery-backed rails
Supply voltage spans 2.25 V to 3.6 V, so it runs off a 3.3 V or 2.5 V rail without an external LDO. The 35 mA max active current is typical for a 160 MHz CMOS output stage. In a battery-powered system that sleeps between transmissions, this lets the oscillator stay powered but quiescent — no need for a separate load switch.
Package outline and footprint reality
7.00 mm x 5.00 mm body, 0.90 mm seated height, 6-SMD no-lead — the 6-pad land pattern is the same as a standard 7x5 mm XO footprint. No via-in-pad required; the pads are on the perimeter.
Product status is Active per Microchip. New designs can proceed without a near-term obsolescence gate.
