Active MEMS oscillator for harsh-environment timing
The DSC1101AM1-016.0000T is an active-production MEMS-based XO (Standard) from Microchip Technology, delivering a fixed 16 MHz CMOS output. The MEMS resonator replaces a quartz crystal, giving this oscillator better resistance to vibration and a faster start-up time than a comparable quartz-based part.
Standby function and current draw
A Standby (Power Down) function on pin 1 disables the output and drops supply current to 95 µA max, useful for battery-powered equipment that needs to gate the clock during sleep modes. Active supply current is 35 mA max at 16 MHz.
Package and footprint for PCB layout
Housed in a 6-SMD, No Lead Exposed Pad package measuring 7.00mm x 5.00mm with a seated height of 0.90mm. The exposed pad on the underside should be soldered to a ground plane for thermal management; the 0.50mm pitch pads require a standard SMT reflow profile.
Frequency stability and sourcing posture
Rated ±50 ppm frequency stability over the full temperature range and supply voltage window.
