The MEMS resonator is sealed inside the package, so the part tolerates shock and vibration better than a quartz can, and it starts up in milliseconds instead of the tens of milliseconds a crystal oscillator needs.
Supply voltage spans 2.25V to 3.6V, so the same BOM line covers both 2.5V and 3.3V logic domains without a separate regulator or level translator. The CMOS output swings rail-to-rail and drives standard CMOS loads directly — no termination network needed for short traces under a few inches.
Temperature grade and stability — industrial floor ready
That is tight enough for 10/100 Ethernet reference clocks, USB 2.0, and general-purpose processor clocking — no TCXO needed unless the system requires sub-10 ppm drift.
The output goes high-impedance in standby, so multiple oscillators can share a clock bus without contention.
The DSC1101 series is the current generation — there is no successor to migrate to.
