What this MEMS oscillator does in the BOM
The DSC1033CI1-008.1920: That specific frequency is common in telecom T1/ framing and baseband processors — not a generic 8 MHz you can swap with a quartz can. The 4-SMD no-lead package is 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm, so the footprint is tight — a standard 3.2 x 2.5 mm oscillator land pattern fits.
The standby (power-down) function and the 1 µA disable current were part of the PureSilicon™ series, and that family has been phased out.
Power budget and standby behaviour
When running, the oscillator draws 3 mA typical max — low enough for a battery-backed RTC or a sleep-wake controller. The standby (power-down) pin drops consumption to 1 µA max, which means the oscillator can be gated by a GPIO to save power without a separate load switch.
