Active MEMS oscillator for 16 MHz clock trees
The DSC1033CE1-016.0000T is an active-production MEMS-based XO from Microchip's PureSilicon™ series, delivering a fixed 16 MHz CMOS output at 3.3V supply. The 3 mA typical supply current at 16 MHz is competitive with quartz oscillators of similar accuracy.
When the standby pin is asserted, the oscillator enters power-down mode and draws 1 µA maximum. This is the key differentiator from a basic quartz oscillator — the MEMS die can be shut off completely, preserving battery life in portable or IoT designs that spend most of their time asleep.
