MEMS oscillator with standby — what it replaces
It is a direct drop-in replacement for a standard 12 MHz quartz oscillator in the same 5.0 mm × 3.2 mm 4-SMD no-lead footprint — no board layout change, no external load capacitors, and no pull-up resistors on the output. The CMOS output drives a single load up to 15 pF without a buffer.
Standby power-down — when to use it
This is useful in battery-powered or energy-harvesting designs where the system clock is gated during sleep — the MEMS oscillator wakes from standby in under 5 ms, faster than a quartz oscillator's start-up time.
Temperature grade and industrial fit
The MEMS construction also handles 50,000 g shock and 70 g vibration — relevant for portable instrumentation and vehicle-mounted equipment.
