Product details

MEMS vs quartz — what the resonator choice means

The 4-SMD no-lead package (5.00 mm x 3.20 mm x 0.90 mm) is the same footprint as many standard quartz oscillators, so a board originally laid out for a quartz part can often take this MEMS oscillator without a layout change.

Power budget and supply decoupling

Typical active supply current is 3 mA; in standby it drops to 1 µA. The 3V supply rail should be decoupled with a 0.1 µF ceramic close to the VDD pin, as recommended for any high-frequency oscillator. The CMOS output swings rail-to-rail and drives a standard logic load — no external termination resistor needed for short traces under a few inches.
