Why this MEMS oscillator exists
A quartz crystal oscillator that fails under the 50 g shock of an airbag deployment or the vibration of an engine-bay ECU sends the whole module back to rework. The DSC1003DI2-024.5670 uses a MEMS resonator instead of quartz, rated to survive those conditions while holding ±25 ppm frequency stability across -40°C to 85°C.
Automotive-grade clock for serial buses
That certification is the gate for any under-hood or cabin-domain ECU that must survive 15 years of thermal cycles. The 8 mA max supply current keeps the thermal contribution low in a sealed enclosure. At 24.567 MHz, the CMOS output drives standard logic loads without a series termination resistor for short traces — the rise time is fast enough for CAN and LIN transceivers but not so fast that it rings on a 5 cm PCB trace.
4-VDFN package, 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm body, 0.90 mm seated height. Confirm the land pattern matches the Microchip recommended footprint; the centre pad is a thermal via to the ground plane. Surface-mount only.
