MEMS oscillator replacing quartz in automotive designs
The DSC1003BE2-012.0000T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) delivering a 12 MHz CMOS output — a direct drop-in for quartz oscillators in the same 5.0mm x 3.2mm 4-SMD no-lead footprint, but with the shock and vibration tolerance that quartz crystals lack. Rated AEC-Q100, it carries the automotive qualification that standard commercial oscillators do not — for under-hood or cabin electronics where the board sees thermal cycling and mechanical stress.
Supply voltage and standby current for battery-powered nodes
The 1.7V to 3.6V supply range lets this oscillator run directly off a 1.8V, 2.5V, or 3.3V rail without a separate LDO — one less component on the BOM. With the Standby (Power Down) function enabled, the supply current drops to 15 µA max — the oscillator sleeps with the rest of the system and wakes on a logic-level pin, saving battery life in intermittently powered modules.
Temperature range and frequency stability for indoor electronics
The -20°C to 70°C operating range covers indoor, office, and appliance environments — not engine-bay or outdoor pole-mount. The ±25 ppm frequency stability holds the clock tight enough for CAN, USB, and most MCU crystal-less designs.
