MEMS oscillator with automotive-grade qualification
The DSC1001CI2-033.7840T is a Microchip DSC1001 series MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator delivering a 33.784 MHz CMOS output. Its base resonator is MEMS, not quartz — this gives it better shock and vibration immunity than a traditional crystal oscillator, and it starts up faster with no crystal aging drift. The 1.8V to 3.3V supply range lets it drop into 1.8V or 3.3V clock trees without a separate level translator. AEC-Q100 qualification means this oscillator passed the automotive reliability stress suite — temperature cycling, ESD, latch-up, and extended life test. It is suited for under-hood or cabin electronics where a crystal might fail under vibration or thermal shock.
Active production — quoted to order
Product status is Active — Microchip continues to manufacture this order code, and it is suitable for new designs. Sourced through independent distribution.
Standby function and power budget
A Standby (Power Down) function pulls the output to high-impedance and drops supply current to 15µA max. For a battery-powered ECU that sleeps between CAN wake events, this keeps the quiescent load negligible — the oscillator draws 7.2mA max when enabled, so the standby savings are over 99%.
