The DSC1001CI2-003.8000T is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip Technology, delivering a 3.8 MHz CMOS output with an absolute pull range of ±25 ppm.
AEC-Q100 Grade 1 — PPAP-ready for automotive programs
An OEM auditor will expect PPAP documentation (Production Part Approval Process) tied to this qualification; the AEC-Q100 listing on the datasheet is the first piece of evidence that the part can be placed on an automotive BOM without a waiver.
Supply voltage range and standby function
The DSC1001CI2-003.8000T operates from a 1.8V to 3.3V supply rail, covering the common logic and MCU I/O voltages used in automotive and industrial control boards. When the standby (power-down) function is asserted, the oscillator stops its internal MEMS drive and the output enters a high-impedance state, dropping the supply current from 8 mA max to 15 µA max. This allows the host processor to gate the clock during low-power sleep modes without an external load-switch.
4-VDFN package and board layout notes
Housed in a 4-VDFN package measuring 3.20 mm x 2.50 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm, this oscillator occupies roughly the same footprint as a standard 3.2 x 2.5 mm SMD crystal. The 4-pin VDFN has a centre pad that should be connected to the ground plane through a single via to minimise loop inductance — the datasheet's recommended land pattern (not reproduced here) specifies 0.65 mm pad width and 1.10 mm pad pitch.
