Why a MEMS XO with AEC-Q100 matters for your clock tree
The DSC1001BE1-050.0000 is a MEMS-based oscillator that delivers a fixed 50 MHz CMOS output with ±50 ppm frequency stability — no quartz crystal aging drift over temperature. The AEC-Q100 rating means this part passed automotive-grade stress tests: extended temperature cycling, ESD tolerance, and latch-up immunity. For a design targeting under-hood or chassis-domain electronics, that qualification removes the need for a separate screening step.
Operating from 1.8V to 3.3V, this oscillator spans the common digital core and I/O rails without an external LDO.
Housed in a 4-SMD, no-lead package measuring 5.00 mm x 3.20 mm with a seated height of 0.90 mm. The surface-mount footprint is standard for 5.0 x 3.2 mm oscillators — no special pad geometry or via-in-pad required. Maximum supply current is 7.2 mA, so a basic 100 nF decoupling cap at the supply pin is sufficient.
