What this MEMS oscillator brings to the board
The DSC1001AI1-012.2880 is a MEMS-based XO (Standard) oscillator from Microchip's DSC1001 series, delivering a 12.288 MHz CMOS output from a 4-SMD, no-lead exposed-pad package measuring 7.00 mm x 5.00 mm. Its 1.8V–3.3V supply range lets it run directly off a 1.8V core rail or a 3.3V I/O rail without a level translator, simplifying the power tree.
In active mode the supply current is capped at 6.3 mA, a figure that includes the MEMS resonator and the CMOS output buffer driving a standard load.
Frequency stability and timing margin
The ±50 ppm frequency stability covers the full operating temperature range and supply voltage variation — enough margin for most serial-communication and processor-clock applications without external trimming.
