Product details

32 MHz Cortex-M23 — security-aware control for IoT endpoints

The Microchip ATSAML11D15A-MUT is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M23 MCU from the SAM L11 series, built on the ARMv8-M architecture with TrustZone hardware security. The 32 MHz core delivers roughly 30 DMIPS, enough for sensor fusion, basic protocol stacks, and real-time control loops in battery-powered edge nodes. The 32 KB on-chip Flash (32K x 8) and 8 KB SRAM (8K x 8) fit a single RTOS or a bare-metal application with moderate headroom; the 2 KB EEPROM (2K x 8) stores calibration constants and configuration parameters without wearing the Flash.

Supply range and temperature — one Li-ion or 3.3V rail, industrial floor

The supply range of 1.62V to 3.63V (Vcc/Vdd) lets the MCU run directly from a single Li-ion cell or a regulated 3.3V rail without an extra LDO.

ROHS3 compliant.

Package and peripherals — 24-VQFN, 17 I/O, serial interfaces

Housed in a 24-VFQFN exposed-pad package (4x4 mm, 24-VQFN), the MCU offers 17 general-purpose I/O lines. Connectivity includes I²C, LINbus, SPI, and UART/USART — enough for sensor buses and local serial links. On-chip peripherals: brown-out detect, POR, PWM, WDT, and a DMA controller. Data converters: five 12-bit ADC channels and one 10-bit DAC.

Frequently asked questions

Is the ATSAML11D15A-MUT compatible with Arduino?

The SAM L11 series is not directly Arduino Uno shield-compatible in the 24-VQFN package — the 17 I/O count and 4x4 mm footprint are too small for standard shield headers. However, Microchip provides an ARM Mbed-enabled development board (ATSAML11D15A-MUT is Mbed compatible) for prototyping.
