7.5 ns speed grade — the timing budget anchor
The ATF22V10C-7SX is a 22V10-series electrically erasable PLD from Microchip with a 7.5 ns propagation delay. That speed grade sets the maximum system clock and the combinatorial logic path budget — a 7.5 ns tPD means registered operation above 100 MHz is feasible, but only if the external setup/hold margins and interconnect delays are accounted for. The 10 macrocells are each configurable as registered or combinatorial, giving 10 flip-flops or sum-of-products terms per device.
5V supply — no mixed-voltage shortcuts
This part runs on a single 5V supply rail. The 5V input threshold is compatible with TTL and 5V CMOS logic families; interfacing to a 3.3V FPGA or MCU needs a buffer or voltage divider on the outputs.
24-SOIC package — footprint match matters
The ATF22V10C-7SX comes in a 24-SOIC wide-body package (0.295 inch body width, 7.50 mm). This is the wider SOIC-24 variant, not the narrow 0.150-inch body. The land pattern on the PCB must match the 1.27 mm pitch and the wider body — a narrow SOIC-24 footprint will not align.
