ISOTOP N-Channel MOSFET, 500 V blocking, 52 A continuous
The APL502J is a Microchip Technology N-Channel power MOSFET in the ISOTOP package, rated for 500 V drain-source breakdown and 52 A continuous drain current. This is a chassis-mount device — the ISOTOP baseplate bolts directly to a heatsink or panel, carrying the thermal path through the mounting surface rather than a PCB.
On-resistance and gate drive
Maximum on-resistance is 90 mOhm at 26 A drain current with 12 V gate drive. The gate threshold voltage is 4 V at 2.5 mA, so a 10 V to 12 V gate signal is needed to fully enhance the channel and stay below the ±30 V Vgs absolute maximum.
Thermal and power capability
Rated for 568 W power dissipation and a junction temperature range of -55°C to 150°C. The wide temperature grade suits applications where the heatsink sees ambient extremes — industrial drives, welding equipment, or high-current DC-DC converters in sealed enclosures.
