2Kbit EEPROM for configuration storage
The 93LC56BT-E/MNY is a 2Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 128 x 16 bits, accessed over a Microwire bus at up to 2 MHz clock frequency. It operates from a single 2.5V to 5.5V supply, so it can sit on a 3.3V or 5V rail without a regulator. The 8-TDFN package with exposed pad (2x3 mm) keeps the board footprint small — useful when the EEPROM is placed near the processor on a dense PCB.
Temperature grade and field fit
The 6 ms write cycle time (word or page) means a full 128-word rewrite takes under 800 ms — fine for calibration or parameter storage that is updated infrequently. Compared to the 93LC46AT-E/SN (1Kbit, same 2 MHz speed and temp range), the 93LC56BT-E/MNY doubles the density in a similar footprint, so a firmware change can absorb the extra space without a board spin.
ROHS3 compliant, no exemption issues for EU or California markets.
