The Microchip 93LC46BT-I/MC is a 1Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 64 words of 16 bits each, accessed through a Microwire synchronous serial interface. The 2 MHz clock rate yields a read throughput around 250 kbit/s — fine for storing calibration constants, configuration tables, or small boot parameters, but not for streaming data logging. The 16-bit word width matches processors that prefer word-aligned reads; if your MCU expects byte-wide access, the 93LC46AT-E/SN (organized 128 x 8) is the byte-oriented sibling. Supply range spans 2.5V to 5.5V, so the part works on 3.3V or 5V rails without a level translator.
Industrial temperature grade and DFN package — where it fits
