1Kbit I²C EEPROM in SOIC-8 — BOM-fit for small-config storage
The Microchip 24LC01B/SN is a 1Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 128 x 8 bits, accessed over a two-wire I²C bus at clock frequencies up to 400 kHz. The 3.5 µs access time sets the minimum SCL high and low pulse widths; at 400 kHz the bus timing is tight enough that the master's I²C peripheral must meet the 2.5 µs data-hold requirement. The 5 ms write-cycle time means the part is busy after every page or byte write — the master polls the ACK bit or waits the full period before the next command.
SOIC-8 footprint and reflow profile
No special pad geometry or via-in-pad required; a standard 0.050-inch pitch SOIC land pattern places it cleanly. Tube delivery means the parts ship in anti-static tubes, not tape-and-reel. For high-volume pick-and-place, plan a tube feeder or a bulk-to-tape conversion step.
