16 Kbit I2C EEPROM for parameter storage
The 24AA16-I/SN: With a 900 ns access time, it keeps the bus transaction short enough that a 100 kHz I2C master polling for an acknowledge does not stall the control loop.
The wide supply range lets it bridge a 3.3 V MCU and a 5 V legacy sensor on the same I2C bus without a level shifter — the 24AA16-I/SN treats both as valid Vcc. The 5 ms page write cycle time means firmware updates or calibration data writes complete within a single sensor polling interval; budget this into the write routine so the I2C bus is not held for back-to-back pages.
8-SOIC package and board integration
Supplied in an 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm width) in Tube format. The 0.154-inch body width fits a standard SOIC-8 footprint with 1.27 mm pitch — no fine-pitch routing needed. The surface-mount profile reflows at standard lead-free temperatures without a special bake step, as the MSL is typically Level 1 for this series.
