2Kbit I²C EEPROM with factory-programmed MAC address
The Microchip 24AA02E48T-E/SN is a 2Kbit serial EEPROM with an I²C interface, organized as 256 x 8 bits. What sets this part apart from a plain 24AA02 is the factory-laser-programmed EUI-48 MAC address (the "E48" suffix) — it ships with a globally unique 48-bit identifier in the upper address space, saving a separate MAC-address memory or OTP array in Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth designs. The 400 kHz bus clock and 900 ns access time are standard for this density class, and the write cycle time per word or page is 5 ms.
Industrial temperature grade and wide supply — where it earns its keep
The supply range spans 1.7V to 5.5V, so it holds its calibration data through a cold-crank dip to 1.8V on a 3.3V rail and still runs at 5V in a legacy industrial backplane. This is the part to specify when the module lives in an engine bay, a rooftop radio, or a motor-drive cabinet where the ambient climbs past 85°C.
Listed as Active product status, so no end-of-life risk for current production builds. ROHS3 compliant.
