1100 V blocking, 60 ns recovery — the snubber and boost diode choice
The 1N6631/TR is a standard fast recovery diode rated for 1100 V DC reverse voltage and 1.4 A average rectified current, with a maximum forward voltage drop of 1.4 V at the rated current. The 1100 V blocking rating gives headroom on a 400 VDC bus or a 480 VAC rectified rail — the diode stays out of avalanche during line transients that would punch through a 1000 V part.
Junction temperature and leakage at the high-voltage end
Reverse leakage is specified at 4 µA at 1100 V — a tight figure for a 1.4 A part at this voltage class, meaning the die's passivation and edge termination hold well under bias. Junction capacitance is 40 pF at 10 V and 1 MHz — low enough that the diode does not add significant switching loss in a 100 kHz boost converter; the 60 ns trr dominates the turn-off energy.
Through-hole axial package, tape-and-reel for automated insertion
The A-axial through-hole package suits point-to-point wiring, terminal boards, and high-reliability assemblies where a surface-mount diode would be mechanically stressed.
