Forward drop and thermal budget at rated current
The 1N6628/TR: Maximum forward voltage is 1.35 V at 2 A forward current. At the 1.75 A average rating, conduction loss is approximately 2.4 W, which must be dissipated through the axial leads and the PCB or heatsink pads. Reverse leakage is 2 µA at the full 600 V blocking voltage — low enough to avoid significant standby loss in a 400 VDC bus hold-up circuit. The standard silicon technology means no Schottky-level Vf, but the 45 ns trr gives a controlled reverse-recovery characteristic that reduces switching losses in hard-switched topologies.
Active lifecycle — sourcing for production and MRO
It remains a valid BOM line for new designs and ongoing production. The tape-and-reel packaging (TR suffix) is the standard format for automated through-hole insertion equipment; the axial lead body matches the A, Axial supplier device package.
