The 1N6626 is a 220 V, 1.75 A fast recovery rectifier from Microchip Technology, with a reverse recovery time (trr) of 30 ns that places it in the Fast Recovery =< 500ns, > 200mA (Io) class. This trr matters most in switch-mode power supplies and flyback converters where the diode must turn off quickly to avoid reverse-recovery losses that heat the junction and reduce efficiency.
Axial leaded package — through-hole assembly, no reflow profile needed
The 1N6626 comes in an A, Axial package (DO-204AL equivalent), with through-hole mounting. The axial leaded format is straightforward for hand assembly and rework — no reflow profile, no moisture sensitivity level to track. The body length and lead diameter are standard for a 1.75 A rated part, so the lead bend radius during insertion should follow the usual rule of at least twice the lead diameter to avoid cracking the glass passivation. The 40 pF capacitance at 10 V reverse bias is low enough that switching losses from junction capacitance are negligible at typical SMPS frequencies below 500 kHz.

Reverse leakage is specified at 2 µA max at 220 V reverse bias — this is a typical figure for a fast recovery diode in this voltage class. The leakage doubles roughly every 10°C above 25°C junction, so at 125°C junction temperature budget around 64 µA. The 220 V reverse rating gives a comfortable derating margin for a 48 V or 120 V DC bus application.
