Leakage and forward drop — the standby and conduction trade-off
Reverse leakage is specified at 10 µA max at the 50 V rated reverse voltage. At 25°C junction that figure is the standby power floor — 0.5 mW per diode at full reverse bias, negligible in a power supply but worth budgeting in a battery-powered hold-up circuit where the diode sits reverse-biased for long intervals. Forward voltage is 1.5 V max at 37.7 A — a pulsed test condition well above the 2 A average rating. At the 2 A continuous operating point the actual Vf will be lower; the 1.5 V figure at high current confirms the die can handle surge events without the forward drop collapsing the bias rail.
Through-hole axial — board integration and procurement
The through-hole axial package (A, Axial case) mates with legacy PCB layouts and is hand-assembly or wave-solder friendly — no reflow profile to qualify.
