Fast recovery diode for snubbing and freewheeling
The 1N6078 is a standard fast recovery diode from Microchip Technology, rated for an average rectified current of 1.3 A and a maximum repetitive reverse voltage of 150 V. Its reverse recovery time of 30 ns qualifies it for the Fast Recovery class (≤500 ns, >200 mA), making it suited for snubber networks and freewheeling paths in medium-frequency switching circuits.
Reverse leakage and junction temperature handling
Reverse leakage current is specified at 5 µA when the device is blocking 150 V reverse. This low leakage, combined with the wide junction temperature range from -65°C to 155°C, means the diode maintains its blocking integrity across industrial and military temperature extremes without significant thermal runaway risk. The through-hole axial package (A, Axial) is a standard leaded format that integrates into point-to-point wiring or through-hole PCB layouts. No special footprint or thermal pad is required beyond the copper trace area for heat sinking.
