What this Zener TVS does on your rail
The 1N6069A/TR is a bidirectional Zener transient-voltage-suppression diode from Microchip Technology, rated for 1500W peak pulse power at the 10/1000µs waveform. Its 171V minimum breakdown voltage and 261V clamping ceiling make it a fit for 150V nominal rails where you need to clamp transients without latching the supply.
Pulse current and clamping margin
With a peak pulse current of 5.7A (10/1000µs), the diode can handle repeated surge events as long as the average power stays within the junction's thermal budget. The 261V clamping voltage at Ipp gives a 1.5× margin above the 150V standoff — enough headroom for most industrial 120/240VAC secondary-side protection schemes.
Active production, DO-13 package, tape and reel
It ships in Tape & Reel (TR) format, which suits automated pick-and-place for through-hole insertion if your line handles taped axial or radial components. The DO-13 (DO-13) package is a standard hermetic metal can; the through-hole leads need a 0.040-inch (1.02 mm) diameter hole per IPC-7351 footprint recommendation.
Temperature range and environment fit
The hermetic DO-13 package handles moisture and thermal cycling better than molded plastic; no MSL concern for reflow because it's through-hole — just confirm the solder pot temperature stays within the lead finish rating.
