Bidirectional Zener TVS for high-surge lines
The 1N6063A/TR is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode from Microchip Technology, rated for 1500W peak pulse power. Its 82V reverse standoff voltage and 137V clamping ceiling protect 48V–72V DC buses or AC signal lines from transients up to 11A peak pulse current. The bidirectional channel clamps both polarities with a single device, eliminating the need for series back-to-back arrangements on bipolar or AC-coupled lines.
DO-13 hermetic package and temperature range
Housed in a DO-13 through-hole package, the 1N6063A/TR suits board-level assembly where hermetic sealing and mechanical robustness are required — common in military, aerospace, and industrial power supplies. The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, allowing operation in engine bays, downhole tools, or outdoor telecom cabinets without derating at the high end.
