Transient suppression for 36V rails – 1500W pulse capability
The 1N6054A/TR is a bidirectional Zener TVS diode designed to clamp transients on a 36V nominal rail. Its 1500W peak pulse power rating handles surge events without sacrificing the PCB footprint – the DO-13 through-hole package sits comfortably on a two-layer board with adequate copper pour for heat sinking.
Clamping voltage, breakdown, and peak current – the three numbers that matter
The reverse standoff voltage is 36V, so the diode stays off during normal operation. Breakdown starts at a minimum of 40.9V, and the clamping voltage at peak pulse current (25.3A) is 59.3V – that 18.4V window between breakdown and clamp tells you the dynamic resistance is low enough to protect downstream silicon rated for 60V. The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, which means this part can sit in an engine bay or an outdoor telecom cabinet without derating the pulse power at the hot end – the 1500W rating holds across the full temperature band.
