Zener TVS in a hermetic DO-13 can
It clamps at 33.2 V maximum with a 45 A peak pulse current, protecting downstream circuits from transients on a 20 V nominal rail. The DO-13 through-hole package is a hermetic metal can. This package suits designs where outgassing, moisture sensitivity, or mechanical ruggedness rule out plastic SMD parts.
Clamping voltage and pulse current at the rail
Reverse standoff voltage is 20 V, so the device stays transparent on a 20 V bus and only conducts when the transient exceeds the 22.8 V minimum breakdown. The 33.2 V clamping ceiling at 45 A means the protected circuitry must tolerate that peak voltage for the pulse duration. The wide temperature envelope also derates the peak pulse power at high junction temperatures per the standard TVS derating curve.
