Product details

What this Zener TVS does in the assembly

It clamps transients on a 7V rail, with a minimum breakdown voltage of 7.79V and a maximum clamping voltage of 12.1V at the 124A peak pulse current.

The 7V reverse standoff is the DC operating voltage the diode leaves alone; below that it is high-impedance. Above 7.79V breakdown it starts conducting, and at 124A it holds the line to 12.1V. That 5V window between standoff and clamp is the protection margin — tight enough for a 12V-tolerant downstream IC.

Package and mounting — through-hole, DO-13, tape and reel

Through-hole DO-13 package, supplied on tape and reel. The two-lead axial body is polarity-marked for the cathode band; for a bidirectional part orientation is non-critical. The 0.50 mm lead diameter fits standard 1 mm PCB holes — no tight-pitch stencil needed, easy swap on a rework bench.

Frequently asked questions

Is 1N6037A/TR bidirectional?

Yes, it is a single bidirectional channel — clamps both polarities symmetrically.
