Zener voltage and power rating
The 1N6019C is a 62 V Zener diode rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation in free air — the junction temperature ceiling is 175 °C, so derating is required above 25 °C ambient if the full 500 mW is applied. With a ±2% tolerance band, the actual Zener voltage at 25 °C falls between 60.76 V and 63.24 V — tight enough for a simple shunt regulator or voltage reference where a 5% part would drift outside the load regulation budget.
Package and temperature grade
The -65 °C to +175 °C operating range places this diode in the military-temperature class — it is suitable for avionics, downhole instrumentation, or any environment where a commercial-grade Zener would fail at the cold or hot end.
Leakage and forward characteristics
Reverse leakage is specified at 100 nA maximum when 47 V is applied across the junction — this is the leakage at roughly 75 % of the Zener voltage, so the actual leakage at the operating point (62 V) is higher but still under 1 µA for most of the temperature range. Forward voltage drop is 1.1 V maximum at 200 mA forward current — the diode can be used as a low-current rectifier in a pinch, though the 500 mW dissipation limit restricts continuous forward current to about 450 mA at 25 °C.
