Microchip Technology lists the 1N6014B as Obsolete. No official successor or second-source is recorded on this line.
Zener voltage, power, and temperature grade
The 1N6014B is a 39 V Zener diode rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation. The ±5% tolerance on the nominal Zener voltage means the actual Vz sits between 37.05 V and 40.95 V — tight enough for a fixed-voltage reference or a simple shunt regulator. That is the full military-grade range — the diode can sit in an avionics power supply or a downhole instrument where the ambient cycles well beyond industrial limits.
Package and reverse leakage
Supplied in the DO-35 glass axial package. The through-hole body is standard for point-to-point wiring or through-hole PCB assembly — the glass seal keeps moisture out, which matters for long-term stability in humid environments. Reverse leakage is specified at 100 nA maximum when the reverse voltage is 30 V. At 30 V the diode is well below its Zener knee, so the leakage figure is the standby current in a voltage-sensing circuit — negligible for most designs.
