The ±2% tolerance holds the regulation voltage between 35.28 V and 36.72 V across the batch — tighter than the generic ±5% grade, so you don't have to over-design the shunt resistor to cover a wider voltage spread. Reverse leakage is 100 nA max at 27 V, which means it won't pull a bias rail down in a high-impedance divider.
