The 1N6013B/TR is a 36 V zener diode rated for 500 mW continuous power dissipation in the DO-35 axial package — a standard choice for voltage reference, clamping, or regulation in through-hole designs. The ±5% tolerance means the actual zener voltage falls between 34.2 V and 37.8 V at the test current; for precision references a tighter grade (e.g. ±2% or ±1%) would be needed, but for general-purpose rail clamping or overvoltage protection this band is adequate.
Temperature range and leakage
Operating from -65°C to 175°C, this diode suits high-temperature environments such as engine-bay electronics, industrial ovens, or downhole instrumentation where the junction sees sustained heat. Reverse leakage is specified at 100 nA maximum when 27 V is applied across the junction — low enough that it won't load a high-impedance node or drain a battery in standby.
Active lifecycle and sourcing
It can be specified into new BOMs without lifecycle risk. The DO-35 axial body is a common footprint shared across many manufacturers' 500 mW zener families, so second-source alternatives exist if dual-sourcing is required for supply assurance.
